Critical MASS Toolkit: Taking community ACTION on health disparities is designed tohelp communitiesand grassroots coalitions take charge in the fight against disparities. This toolkit was developed by Critical MASS to support individuals and communities like yours in efforts to:

• Understand the different causes and impacts of disparities in health
• Learn where and how to look for data and patterns regarding health
• Use group action as a strategy to address health disparities and related issues in communities

It is our hope that this resource will support your efforts at community mobilization for the elimination of health disparities.  As you follow along, this toolkit will guide you through the process of: 

• Becoming informed on health and health disparities
• Getting people together to discuss and identify existing health disparities in the local community
• Selecting specific disparities upon which to take action
• Developing an action plan involving the community and other key players who, together, can make that action happen
• Advocating for changes in health practices and policies
