Job Description: Critical MASS Statewide Coordinator

Position summary:

The Statewide Coordinator must have a college degree and three to five year's previous community organizing experience. This individual should also be familiar with health organizations and issues of health disparities in minority communities. Ideally, this individual will have experience in event planning, grant writing and website management and skilled in public speaking. Excellent organizational, facilitation, written and verbal communication skills, computer fluency (Microsoft Office) and reliable transportation are required. . Individuals from diverse racial, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Background in public health a plus.

Currently, this is a part-time, grant-funded position. It offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits and a generous reimbursement package (mileage, cell phone, etc.):

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities

. Serve as primary point of contact for Critical MASS

. Coordinate activities/meetings of the Critical MASS Steering Committee

. Develop and prioritize schedule and coordinate planning for regional forums, and other meetings as directed by the steering committee and ensure steering committee participation in each of the forums

. Develop mechanisms for implementation of Critical MASS Regional Partnerships (CMRPs)

. Disseminate information about Critical MASS and eliminating health disparities to organizations and individuals across the state

. Maintain, update and further develop Critical MASS website and associated resources, including listserve and Toolkit to Eliminate Health Disparities

. Coordinate implementation of received grants & the development/writing of grant proposals

. Work closely with fiscal conduit to track expenditures and report results to steering committee

. Administrative Support to the steering committee

. Coordinate activities with and provide technical assistance to the Regional Coordinators of Critical MASS

Secondary Responsibilities

. Coordinate information and technology needs for the steering committee and CMRPs

. Represent Critical MASS at state and community functions throughout Commonwealth

. Give public speeches and presentations

. Serve as liaison with legislators, state, federal and municipal agencies, partners

Qualifications required at hire:

. College degree or equivalent plus a combination of direct work experience

. Self-starter with strong organizational skills

. Ability to build & maintain organization's structure out of fluid membership

. Strong writing, analytical and editing skills

. Strong interpersonal & facilitation skills

. Ability to manage or contribute to projects involving teams throughout state

. Ability to work with and act as interface between diverse populations (health professional, consumers, business, academic and more)

. Ability to work under tight deadlines

. Reliable transportation for statewide travel

. Computer & Internet fluency

. Performs other related duties as required

  

Preferred:

. Grant writing experience

. Experience with under-served and un-served populations

. Understanding of community-based, clinical, and state efforts to eliminate health disparities

. Background in Public Health a plus
