I request to join the CRITICAL MASS LISTSERV and agree to abide by the agreements of participation. The following items are acceptable for publication:

  • Thoughts, questions and well thought-out opinions/ideas on health disparities
  • Announcement of events or programs
  • Funding opportunities
  • Research on health disparities and other relevant information
  • Job openings in the public health, disparities and related fields. However, the primary purpose of this list serve is not for job postings.

Best practices for effective e-mail communication:

  • Posts should be professional in nature. Items not relating to the mission, goals and/or purpose of Critical MASS are inappropriate.
  • Read all incoming mail before posting to the list.
  • Use a descriptive subject line
  • Always give your postings a full signature. Include your name, e-mail address, title and institutional affiliation.
  • All work products that appear on the list are property of the author. Do not post any copyright materials on the list serve. This includes newspaper articles. A link to the web site and the full-text is allowed and encouraged.
  • If you wish to have a discussion with someone, please use the term CHAT in your subject line or please reply to the sender, not the whole list.

Replying to a posted message:

  • If your reply is personal or otherwise irrelevant to the full list, please reply to the sender and not the whole list.
  • When replying to a message, delete lengthy address lists, headers, footers, etc. Include only the important parts of the message.
  • When replying, if the original subject line is unclear, re-type it.

How to avoid causing problems with your posting:

  • Do not send messages in HTML. Send your messages in plain ASCII text that all can read.
  • Do not post viruses, worms or hoaxes.
  • Avoid sending jokes, humor and other information not in the scope of Critical MASS.
  • Do not post any defamatory comments or abusive posts. If someone makes a mistake do not publicly chastise the person. We are all human.

Critical MASS and its endorsing agencies accept no responsibilities for the opinions or information posted by users.

Critical MASS reserves the right to terminate access to the list serve.
