Description of best practice: LHI holds trainings on how to do advocacy and lobbying around health disparities. They educate Latin American immigrants about the MA political system, with the goal of involving them in health policy. LHI asks communities about their priorities and instructs how to contact their policy maker, etc. It is intended for staff and/or clients of community – based organization. These trainings conducted in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian, Creole and English.

Participants have a real need for this kind of information in their own language. We have successfully involved participants (post-training) in the Latin American Public Health Council.
